Hodgdon Pyrodex RS Black Powder Substitute 1 lb
Hodgdon Pyrodex RS can be used in all calibers of percussion muzzleloading rifles and shotguns. It has a wide application of uses and is the most versatile powder in the Pyrodex line. Like all grades of Pyrodex, it burns cleaner and produces less fouling than blackpowder. RS compares to 2F blackpowder on a particle size basis.

What is the Equivalent of Pyrodex RS Black Powder?
On a particle size basis, RS is equivalent to FFG black powder. Many people believe that Pyrodex® Select is the most accurate powder available. Pyrodex® Select is an improved version of the RS grade.

How does Pyrodex compare to black powder?
While Pyrodex is safer and more efficient (in terms of shots per pound of powder) than black powder, the fouling level is comparable; Pyrodex is caustic and corrosive. When Pyrodex is utilized, the same cleaning lay routine as is used for black powder fouling must be used.
