When muzzleloading, ignition is everything. To complement B.O.R. Lock MZ rounds, Federal Premium created the 209 Muzzleloading Primer.

The Federal Premium Primers 209 Muzzleloading formulation offers improved moisture resistance as well as hot, consistent igniting of both granulated powder and pellets under any conditions.

The design prevents the severe breath fouling that is common with ordinary shotshell primers. Only muzzleloading guns should use these primers, not shotshells.
